Closing Guantanamo

In his press conference Tuesday, President Obama again vowed to close the prison at Guantanamo holding 166 "enemy combatants" -- a promise he's been making since his 2008 campaign. Today on my America Weekend show, I talked with Ian Wallach, an attorney who represented three detainees in federal habeas actions, about why Guantanamo hasn't been closed, how much it costs us, and why more than half of the prisoners who have been deemed transferable are still there. We also talked about the role of Congress in keeping Guantanamo open.
